Early in 2020, a MAPPING  (Management and Planning Programs Involving Nonmetropolitan Groups click for more information) initiative was begun in Teutopolis. Members of the community were invited to participate in a process to dream about their vision of a future Teutopolis. They were asked to identify big, hairy, audacious goals (BHAGs) in order to get to that ideal place. From there, all BHAGs were considered, categorized and ranked by a popular vote which resulted in the formation of eight action committees.

Of the action groups formed, one is the Parks and Recreation committee. Our BHAG is, “Teutopolis is known for its wide range of parks and recreation opportunities including outdoor and indoor facilities, parks, and trails. The parks and recreation facilities add to the beauty of the community and give community members of all ages opportunities to exercise, commune with nature, and gather with friends and family.” In order to make this BHAG a reality, we are asking for your help. We would like input from the community to decide where we should focus our efforts in order to provide new or expanded services and facilities within the Teutopolis Park District. Please allow your voice to be heard by completing the attached survey. Teutopolis for Tomorrow Parks & Rec Survey

We prefer the survey be filled out online, but if you are not able to do so, you may pick up a paper copy from Teutopolis Village Hall (Monday – Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm) or contact Carrie Copple at (217)994-3049. Paper copies may be returned by going inside the Village Hall or by mailing to Carrie Copple, 710 W. Elm St., Teutopolis, IL 62467.
