Established in 1838 by German immigrants, Teutopolis has a rich history of intentional community building. Our village was carefully planned from the start, with streets laid out perpendicular to the National Road (now U.S. 40), reflecting the thoughtful spirit that continues to define us today. We’re a community of entrepreneurs, with over 50 locally owned businesses, a strong cultural heritage, and a commitment to maintaining our small-town character while embracing future opportunities.
